EDISON– The chauffeur of a tractor-trailer suffered severe injuries Friday after the car reversed on the New Jersey Turnpike.
At about 9:50 a.m., New Jersey State Police were informed of an automobile crash at the New Jersey Turnpike Interchange 10 in Edison in which a white Freightliner tractor-trailer reversed causing serious injuries to the chauffeur, according to New Jersey State Police Lt. Theodore Schafer.
A cops tracking service suggested the mishap happened on the Route 287 southbound ramp onto the Turnpike.
READ: 10 horses eliminated in New Jersey Turnpike crash The driver was gotten rid of from the car and transferred to a New Jersey State Police medical helicopter to be transported to a health center. Details about which hospital he was carried to was not readily available.
Schafer said New Jersey State Police are still on the scene where the automobile particles is still being cleared. NJ511.org reported entry to the turnpike from Route 287 stays obstructed.
